In looking at the numbers for the month of May 2017 in Santa Barbara Real Estate, we can see that New Listings have remained somewhat steady. There have been 164 sales in the month of May, the highest number of 2017, with the trend of more sales each consecutive month.
The overall average price trends YTD has stayed relatively steady for the past four years, while the median price level is slowing rising. There is very strong competition for buyers right now, especially in the 1-2million price level. The higher end inventory has been softening recently. Despite the competitive market, buying power is still high with historically low interest rates. With the lack of inventory in the Santa Barbara housing market, it is a great time to sell your home, there’s lots of buyers out there looking for their home in and around the Santa Barbara area.
